Upleveling Terapify’s Matching Experience

The Challenge
Terapify, a leading mental health platform in LATAM, needed to optimize its user journey—specifically, helping users find the right therapist.
Matching users with their ideal psychologist was not just a functional requirement but also a critical emotional and decision-making challenge.
Many users dropped off at this stage due to overwhelm, lack of guidance, and uncertainty, leading to lower engagement and retention rates. Our goal was to simplify and enhance the therapist selection experience while increasing conversions.

Our Approach: Data Meets Behavioral Design
We began with a deep data analysis to uncover key drop-off points and user pain points in the selection and payment process.
Optimizing Therapist Selection
We applied behavioral design principles to build confidence and reduce choice paralysis:
✔ Ratings & Experience Indicators – Quick visual cues to help users gauge therapist credibility.
✔ Personal Video Introductions – A human touch to build connection before booking.
✔ Detailed Therapist Profile Pages – Background, approach, and specialties for informed decisions.
✔ Streamlined Selection Process – Focused decision-making by breaking it down into two clear steps:
1️⃣ Choose a therapist
2️⃣ Choose availability
Enhancing the Payment Stage
To further improve conversion, we optimized the checkout flow, reducing friction and making the commitment process feel effortless.
The Results
In just the first two weeks of implementation, Terapify saw a 23.5% increase in conversion rates, proving the impact of a streamlined and user-centered selection process.
By applying behavioral design principles, we reduced the overwhelm users previously felt when choosing a therapist, helping them make more confident and informed decisions.
But this is only the beginning. With a new foundation in place, Terapify is now positioned to continue refining and improving the experience, ensuring that more users find the right therapist with ease.
As we move forward, our focus remains on increasing retention, engagement, and overall accessibility to mental health support—because making the right choice should feel intuitive, not overwhelming.
